                                    Greaseproof paper is a special type of paper designed to resist the penetration of grease and oil, making it ideal for food packaging and for wrapping greasy items.How Greaseproof Works:1. Material Structure: The paper is made by compressing  fibres tightly, creating a barrier that reduces the paper%u2019s  porosity, preventing oils and fats from seeping through.2. Chemical Treatment: Sometimes, the paper is  treated with coatings or additives to enhance its grease  resistance. These can be 1/s or 2/s coated.3. Baking papers can be 1/s or 2/s silicone-treated.4. These papers are available in bleached (white) or  unbleached (brown).5. These papers can also be supplied in a wet strength  version, facilitating multiuse or resistance to moisture,  e.g. vinegar in a chip packet.KIT Levels:KIT Levels are a standardized measure of how resistant a material is to grease and oil. They range from 1 to 12:%u2022 Low KIT levels (1%u20133)Low resistance to grease, suitable for light grease applications (e.g., dry, or mildly greasy foods).%u2022 Medium KIT levels (4%u20138)Moderate resistance, used for items like pastries or moderately oily foods.GREASEPROOF AND LABEL PAPERS%u2022 High KIT levels (9%u201312)High grease resistance, ideal for heavily oily or greasy foods (e.g., fried items, butter).The higher the KIT level, the more effective the material is at resisting grease penetration.New PFAS-free (fluorochemicals), cleaner and greener materials do not react to KIT testing, so their grease resistance is measured as low, medium, and high.The main function of greaseproof paper is to contain oily substances without absorbing them, ensuring packaging stays clean and easy to handle.Label PapersLabel Papers for bottles and food are specialized materials designed to create labels that adhere to packaging while providing essential branding and product information. These one-side coated labels are built to withstand different conditions like moisture, heat, and refrigeration, making them suitable for food products and beverages.How Label Papers for Bottles and Food Work:%u2022 Material: These label papers are crafted to ensure print clarity and durability. They must resist smudging, tearing, and environmental conditions such as moisture, grease, or temperature changes.%u2022 Coating: Many label papers have coatings (e.g., water-resistant, grease-resistant, or multiple barrier coatings) that prevent damage from condensation on bottles or oils from food packaging.%u2022 Adhesive: The adhesive used is crucial. For food and beverage applications, labels have strong, food-safe adhesives that stick well to surfaces like glass, plastic, or metal. These adhesives can be permanent (for long-term labels) or removable (for temporary applications).
