Paper is now being developed to be used in CELL PHONE SCREENS,screens will be more sensitive and not break or crack when dropped.PAPER PULP IS A MAJOR CONSTITUENT IN PHARMACEUTICAL PILLS, SAUCE THICKENING, CEMENT PRODUCTION TO ADD STRENGTH, AND PLASTIC PRODUCTION TO ADD RIGIDITY.Paper can be recycledup to 40 times.Towards the end of its life, it is used for shoe packaging, egg trays, etc.Rayon cord is used in the production of CAR TYRES.Other uses for dissolving wood pulp include lipstick, cigarette filters, yoghurt thickening, washing powders, and binding agents in paint.Wood pulp-based textiles are breathable, absorbent, recyclable, and biodegradable.A tree in Northern Europe can take 100 years to grow to harvest size. In Brazil and Indonesia, it takes 5-8 years, and in South Africa, 15 years.During the growth phase, trees absorb CO2 and produce oxygen. After growth, they become stores of carbon. The farmed forests of Brazil and Indonesia are huge producers of wood. Were it not for trees, these enormous areas could be fallow and non-productive.PAPER IS ONE OF THE MOST RECYCLED SUBSTRATES, WITH RECYCLING RATES AROUND 70%.Paper is a key component in the production of car lead-acid batteries.Paper-based major electrical cables are still the most reliable. Many paper-insulated cables are still being used in the London Underground, over 100 years old.THE PAPER INDUSTRY IS THE SINGLE LARGEST PRODUCER OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN THE EU.fifffflffififl%u001a%u0019%u0018Trees are farmed in the far reaches of the Northern Hemisphere where nothing else grows. Slow-growing trees produce the strongest fibres.Dissolving pulp is also used in the production of absorbent sponges and acetate films.Over 10 million tons of dissolving pulp are used annually, with Sappi being the major producer.Dissolving pulp is used to produce textiles including RAYON, VISCOSE & LYOCELL. Wood and bamboo can be the base of dissolving pulp.36
